Do you guys notice that the first question we usually ask someone when we try to get to know them is not, “what’s your name?” The first thing we usually ask is, “where you from?” Or, “what school you go to?”
Names are not important as where we grew up from because where we grew up can tell us a lot more than about a person than a name. We can’t relate to someone’s name, but we can relate to places in our aina, or all over the world.
